Lessons
So How Long Does It Take To Learn?
Driving is a skill that some people learn quicker than others. As an average, the Driving Standards Agency
(DSA) estimates it
takes about 40 hours of lessons and a further 25 hours of additional private practise.
However as
with all
skills, different people
learn at different rates.
As an approved driving instructor I will tailor your lesson plan based on your progress - you may be ready to
take
your
test quicker than first thought, or it may take a few extra lessons. Either way, you should learn at a
speed
that
you feel
comfortable with and only take your test when you feel ready.
How Often Should You Have Lessons?
It's entirely up to you but as a recommendation you should aim for at least one two hour lesson per week
(subject to availability). You should also try improve your driving by having additional private practise between
lessons if possible, going out with family and friends, quite simply there is no better way of learning to drive
than
actually doing it so the more you can do the
better.
